Cambridgeshire, also known as "Cambs" is an area of rural beauty with many small villages. The largest City is Peterborough (a unitary Authority). Other larger towns include Ely, Cambridge, St Neots, Wisbech, Huntingdon and St Ives. Cambridgeshire is mostly low lying, flat countryside with Holme Fen, between Peterborough and Huntingdon and St Ives, being 9 feet (2.75 meters) below sea level. The highest point is at Great Chishill, south of Cambridge, at 480 feet (146 meters). The county is drained by the Great Ouse and its tributaries which joins the Fens at Wisbech.

The A1(M) connects St.Neots and Huntingdon to Peterborough and the M11 terminates at Cambridge, where it joins the A14 past Huntingdon and St Ives. The A47 connects Peterborough to Wisbech and the Fens.
